Leheriya

लहरिया

Diagonal waves, made by rolling the cloth up and binding it before dyeing

Closed now Commercial BuyWatch

Made or sold primarily for buyers. The form is traditional; the production usually is not.

Not dots but stripes running on the diagonal, produced by rolling the length of cloth into a rope, binding it at intervals and dyeing — then unrolling, re-rolling on the other bias and dyeing again for the lattice version. Turban and odhni cloth, strongly seasonal: it belongs to the monsoon and to Teej.
