A devotional form of the Kamad community, sung to Baba Ramdev. Manjeeras are tied to wrists, elbows, waist and shins and struck in sequence while the performer stays seated — often with a sword balanced on the head or a pot of fire. The tradition itself is living. Watching it in a ticketed courtyard at seven in the evening is not the same as watching it where it is meant to happen, and that is why this is labelled staged: the label describes the encounter, not the form.
